Hands (Humanitarian Assistance and Needs for Disasters) is the laboratory of the Department of Industrial Engineering (DEI) at PUC-Rio focused on research in Humanitarian Logistics, Humanitarian Operations, and Disaster Operations Management. Founded in December 2013, Hands' vision is to be a study and research center recognized nationally and internationally for its central role in the debate on disasters and their interfaces with sustainable development through the proposal and development of innovative solutions for disaster risk and management.
